VW will rip you a new ahole for the price they want for a V15 disc. Consider piracy as a real alternative. You can adjust the volume but only when the nav chick is actually speaking. Set the Nav to go somewhere, hit the 'I' key so she repeats the last instruction, while she is talking adjust with the volume knob - presto. I won't bother. Dont know if anyone can help me, I have a problem with my in car sat nav system. Just bough a MK5 which has an RNS MFD2 CD based nav system. Since ive had the car I cant get the sat nav disc to work. The system plays a music CD no problem if I insert it, just when I insert the navigation CD it says 'disc read error' The disc was quite scratched so ive cleaned it up and now its says 'incompatible CD' weird. I think the unit itself is not faulty as it wouldnt play the music CD. I did look pretty hard but no luck. Btw, does this HU support burnt copies? When I try to lower, it says it is already at its minimum. But the volume bar shows a bit past half way still. It doesn't let me go down lower.

If you want try it type 'MFD2_Firmware.rar' in google and you will find the file on a number of websites. Dowload it and also download ImgBurn 2.5.5 and burn the ISO images for V30 and unlocking to separate CDs. Try using Verbatim CD-R. Most people got it to work without any trouble. You'll find the gurus of VW satnav hanging a round there. $265 is cheaper than the VW dealer. You might find a friend on the Australian section of the mkv.com forum. They talk a lot of Nav there too. Well, I meant, I cannot lower the volume to whisper quiet levels. The lowest setting is still very loud.
